1、Degenerative Spondylolisthesis Does Not Affect the e of Unilateral Laminotomy With Bilateral pression in Patients With Lumbar Stenosis BackgroundThe standard surgical treatment for degenerative spondylolisthesis with lumbar stenosis is lumbar fusion after standard laminectomy. Although this strategy

2、 is widely adopted, it is not supported by class I evidence. This strategy assumes that degenerative spondylolisthesis worsens the e of laminectomy by causing postoperative instability. However, instability may be reduced or prevented by the use of less invasive pression techniquesMATERIALS AND METH

3、ODSA total of 165 consecutive patients who underwent ULBD from January 2004 to May 2012 were enrolled in this study. All patients had intermittent claudication or radicular pain that compromised their daily activities. All patients had at least 1 level of severe stenosis documented by lumbar spine m

4、agnetic resonance imaging. According to the presence or absence of degenerative spondylolisthesis, the patients were divided into 2 groups: an olisthesis group and a nonolisthesis group.The olisthesis group was defined as those patients with more than 10% slippage of the anteroposterior diameter of

5、a vertebral body on the neutral lateral view of standing lumbar spine radiographs. e Measuresa standardized questionnaire, 36-Item Short Form Health Survey, standing lumbar radiographs(standing lumbar spine radiographs with flexion and extension lateral views) for a maximum follow-up period of 5 yea

6、rs. average bodily pain score. There was no diff erence in the SF-36 scores between those patients who had preoperative degenerative. spondylolisthesis and those who did not. There was no difference in the progress of slip between those patients who had preoperative degenerative spondylolisthesis an

7、d those who did not. These results suggest that arthrodesis is not necessary in most patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis if pression is performed with ULBD. CONCLUSIONThe presence of degenerative spondylolisthesis in patients with lumbar stenosis did not affect the e after ULBD.
